Esquilibri

See you in Piazza Vittorio for the legendary market fair that livens up the square every third Sunday of the month!

At 11 am, we will participate ito the talk LUCI SULLE LIBRERIE INDIPENDENTI. UNA MAPPA DI ROMA PER BIBLIOMANTI (Spotlight on Independent Bookstores: A Map of Rome for Bibliophiles): A debate based on Claudia Morgagni’s book, Librerie indipendenti della città di Roma (Independent Bookstores in the City of Rome), together with Stefano Ciavatta, journalist, and Patrizio Lombardi, Libreria El Topo.

Walking around the city, entering independent bookshops, talking to those who live and run them, Claudia Morgagni began to see Rome as a mosaic of stories, relationships, and visions. Each bookshop has its own voice, its own way of being in the neighborhood, of dialoguing with those who pass through it. Some are quiet refuges, others are laboratories of ideas, and still others are true centers of social activism. The idea behind the work is to bring to light these hidden gems, often rooted in the most peripheral neighborhoods, where they represent true cultural presidia, places of community, of encounter, and of resistance to standardization.

This meeting around his research is intended to be a celebration of independent bookshops and book collectors. It is also a way to celebrate Esquilibri, its booksellers, and all of you who come every third Sunday of the month!

Librerie Indipendenti della città di Roma is Claudia Morgagni’s thesis project, which Chiara supervised as thesis advisor together with Licia Masi and Dionigi Mattia Gagliardi – Numero Cromatico for the Level I Diploma Course in Graphic Design & Art Direction at NABA Rome. For now, it has been self-published in very few copies, but we are sure that it will soon find a publisher worthy of the project!
