June 2026
Down Dog, by Marta Roberti. In collaboration with
On the occasion of the Bande de Femmes festival, we are pleased to host an exhibition of a selection of works related to the book Down Dog, published by Les Cerises. The works will enter into a dialogue with the book’s pages, where the images interact with the folds of the pages.
In Marta Roberti’s drawings, created on paper using carbon paper as if it were paint or transfer paper, the human body, always a self-portrait, exists in symbiosis with the natural and plant world, because identity is transformation and metamorphosis.
In yoga, each position is named after an animal: in this book, the author teaches us to observe how our little friends move and rest, and to invent new postures and ways of occupying space based on their movements.
Marta Roberti’s research investigates the relationships between humans, animals, and plants, exploring the myths and archaeology of various civilizations, using drawing as a meditative and ritual gesture that brings Eastern and Western imagery into dialogue. The self-portrait is the recurring form she has chosen to revisit the world of myth.
Bande de femmes, #BDF, women’s gang, but also a play on words with Bande dessinée (the French term for illustrated comic strips), is a comics and illustration festival featuring female artists, illustrators, and cartoonists, organized by the Tuba feminist bookshop. And above all, it is an opportunity for debate, the circulation of art, books, and ideas.
The next edition, the thirteenth, will take place
on June 30th with the Notte a colori,
on July 1st and 2nd with Blossoms,
and on July 3rd and 4th, 2026, with the meetings in Via Pesaro.
