The photographs in this book were made in the outskirts of a small Italian town, a neighborhood that was built in the late fifties, when people from the countryside came to the city looking for work. The place appears like a strange combination of rural and urban cultures. A body of work about photography as a means to investigate the past, letting familiar visions revealing themselves from a different perspective. “You plant your roses and you let it go, you wait, you can’t do much to speed up the process. Roses need time, you need time. It’s the work of time on the individual and on the space around us that I try to capture, but also our capacity to accept that time cannot be forced”.
