This book is a collection of outtakes. Personal notes 

on what I was documenting for work. I welcomed the dancers’ suggestions, the space we occupied together, them with their light bodies, me with all the gravity 

of my equipment and posture of a spectator. In the background, old but not ancient buildings, monuments devoted to repetitive actions, producers of finished objects. The experience of residencies for dancers produced ephemeral movement in those spaces; improvisation and research annulled the mechanical nature of industrial production and followed personal and collective solutions. The sound of the machines was replaced by the laboured breathing of the performers and the sounds of the musicians. Research. The spectator does not sweat, their breath betrays no effort, they know how to look ahead and it is their eyes that roam around the scene, that move. They do not twist, they do not know how to flip over, what is visible during a jump, how much dust there is on a linoleum floor. This is the story of that experience, a traversed landscape and a foreign body trying to dance by watching.
