Alice Rovai, Turchino, 1997

“Turchino” is the encounter between Venturino Venturi and Pinocchio.
It is the moment when Venturino and Pinocchio lose each other, yet at the same time find one another again, because they cannot exist apart.

One hundred and eighty hand-drawn plates by Alice Rovai create a dance between two souls, and from this dance can only emerge the Turchino, the color of infinity.

Pinocchio saves Venturino, and Venturino saves Pinocchio.
In an instant they embrace, never to part again.

The drawings became an animated short film produced by the POMA Foundation of Pescia, and later transformed into a small flipbook.
