Two months after Patrizia Cavalli’s death, Lorenzo Castore’s camera wanders through the rooms where, for over fifty years, the writer built her inner world. The result is a sequence of over two hundred images captured on colour and black-and-white film: the final, intimate glimpse of the house in Via del Biscione before its permanent demolition. From wide-angle views to objects crammed into drawers, from kitchen utensils to works of art hanging on the walls, Castore crafts a tactile and meticulous narrative, capable of transforming objects, walls and rooms into pieces of a single, multifaceted portrait in her absence.

‘I fell in love with Patrizia Cavalli’s poems instantly,’ he writes. ‘On sweltering days in mid-August, I entered her domestic universe and befriended her through the labyrinth of rooms which, over the course of some fifty years, witnessed that space transform from the everyday to the inner world and back again.’

*What Is Mine?* thus becomes a testament to this posthumous friendship, born of the encounter between the poet’s voice and the photographer’s lens, ready to capture its echo. In this silent dialogue, between light and memory, the portrait of a fragile, domestic and incandescent human landscape takes shape, in which Patrizia Cavalli’s life and poetry will continue, untouched, to dwell.
