The reader AS IF—16 Dialogues about Sheep, Black Holes, and Movement is a study about our lives that starts from the urgent desire to change it and imagine a different future through artistic and creative practices. Edited by Angelika Burtscher and Daniele Lupo, founders and artistic directors of the Lungomare platform for cultural production and design, the book is structured into sixteen conversations where dialogue is adopted as the main form of relationship that Lungomare has deployed over its twenty years of artistic and cultural activity.

The book features fifty-four International voices expressing their own visions to renegotiate the future, exploring various themes, places, people, languages and disciplines through the four chapters: “Activating Contextual Practices”; “The Public Space as a Field of Action”; “Sharing Knowledge” and “A Sense of Belonging.”

From January to June 2024, the Lungomare reader AS IF – 16 Dialogues about Sheep, Black Holes, and Movement, will be presented in an international tour of events together with a number of the authors as guests, along with new voices, chosen to further enhance the dialogue that unfolds in the book, and thus to offer even more points of view on the future. From Milan to Tschlin, staged in collaboration with the partners IUNO (Rome), <rotor> (Graz), Somalgors74 (Tschlin), the Center for Arts, Design, and Social Research (CAD+SR), CLER (Milan), the tour proposes different formats for specific contexts, with a view to ensuring the book presentation serves as an ideal opportunity for sharing thoughts, visions, paths and readings.

The Roma event consists of a walk planned from Largo Preneste to Leporello.

Focus of the walk is the Bullicant Lake, where there will be some shared readings from the AS IF volume, to then reach Leporello. From 7 pm, after a moment of conversation about the walk, there will be a special honey tasting and a talk and book signing with the authors.
