BOoks | Bologna art books festival – Festival del libro d’arte, fourth edition. Curated by Danilo Montanari and Lorenzo Balbi

The focus of this edition is Viste e riviste (Views and Magazines)—examining magazines in art, ranging from Marcatre —founded in 1963 to channel the era’s multicultural impulse into an innovative, multidisciplinary cultural product—to Permanent Food, an editorial project launched in 1996 through the collaboration of Maurizio Cattelan with Paola Manfrin and Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, featuring fifteen special editions distinguished by Cattelan’s input and unique material qualities; Le copertine di Luigi (Luigi’s Covers), showcasing Ghirri’s photography in records and books; and La coincidenza dello sguardo (The Coincidence of the Gaze)—realized in collaboration with Galleria De Foscherari—which will revisit images from the eponymous art project born of the encounter between Home Movies (the National Archive of Family Film) and the research of artist Giuseppe De Mattia, who explored the visual similarities between Luigi Ghirri’s photography and amateur home movies.
