Davide Degano and Marcello Coslovi: Romanzo Meticcio and The Wrong Side of the Tracks. Two visions in dialogue about multiculturalism and integration in Italy, two days straddling exhibition and editorial design.
Davide Degano and Marcello Coslovi have been carrying out research work for years on issues that are often confused and mixed up: while Davide focuses more on the recognition of a new Italian-ness, Marcello talks about integration, starting from a real situation of exclusion and precariousness. The two authors, in addition to sharing visions and interests with respect to topics such multiculturalism and racial integration in Italy, share a common focus and deep work on the language of the photobook. Those of the two emerging photographers are two complementary visions that speak of microuniverses only in appearance as such: rather ensembles that intersect in an increasingly evident way within Italian society, by its very nature already a complex set of peoples and cultures by genetic code.
On display at the Salotto ‘900 through December 7th a dialogue between images of the two authors’ projects and the working material used in designing and producing their dummies. The exhibition will also feature a selection of books from the libraries of Marcello Coslovi and Davide Degano curated in collaboration with SUGAR PAPER.
