eye/I/eye, a performance project by mealwaukee Based on and for Mr. Palomar by Italo Calvino. Ginevra Dolcemare in conversation with Malvina Bolgherini. Published by Adriatico Book Club.

Adriatico Book Club, cultural association based in Venice and Trieste, presents eye/I/eye, its latest book newly printed.
Created by Ginevra Dolcemare for the artistic duo mealwaukee, the book shows through texts and images a performance project freely based on Mr. Palomar by Italo Calvino. It is intended as a tribute to the observer and in a broader sense to observation. The concept book explores as a visual compass the imaginative processes inquired prior to crossing into the apparatus of theater.
Published for the centenary of Calvino birth, the book is an illustrated essay of the unreleased play: the author relates texts and original ink drawings, reactivating some issues dear to the Ligurian author, above all the relationship of inseparable reciprocity between word and image.

Ginevra Dolcemare is a visual artist, author and performer. She graduated in Sculpture from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera as well as in Theater and Performing Arts from the Iuav University of Venice, for which she is currently a teaching assistant. Since 2015, she has pursued her research in performance art, hybridizing the tools of performance with drawing through methods that are people and site specific. In 2019, she published Reactions (Fuzao Studio), a manual of exercises that converge into the practice of fantasy as an act of political reconfiguration. In 2022, she founded with Salvatore Mangione the artistic duo mealwaukee: before being authors, they are spectators. She has presented her projects in contexts such as Peggy Guggenheim Collection, BRACE BRACE, Head Geneva, Spazio Maiocchi, M9 Museum, Festival Catalysi and Festival Medioera.

Malvina Borgherini, associated professor, is scientific director of MeLaMedia Lab at Università Iuav di Venezia, where she teaches at Master Degree in Architecture, at Bachelor Degree in Multimedia Arts and at Master Degree in Theater and Performatives Arts. At Iuav she was also director of Postgraduate Program MOVIES Moving Images Arts (2019-2022). In the last decade her research activity has focused on the languages of contemporary, looking with great attention to the images and their capacity to create new forms of spatiality and expression within urban communities. Convinced that the images are not only the result of an authorial production, but also the reflection of social and political events that characterizes contemporary urban communities, with the MeLa Media Lab she participated as scientific director in a series of international projects.
