Blind Oblivion Curve ኩርቫ ዕውር ምርሳዕ was born from the collaboration between Muna Mussie and Massimo Carozzi. Consisting of three parts, the record starts from a research on the concept of collective and personal forgetting. References to memory through textile art and embroidery as artistic tools highlight the visible, the invisible and the tactile. Blind moves within the grammar of an aversive text, and the continuous stumbles demolish its meaning by calling to the ear a kind of freestyle, a break dance of the word that introduces to a rhythmic plane with its own sense and form. Curva is built on the fusion of a fragment taken from a piece of Tigrinya music with the mechanical rhythm of a sewing machine and seeks in repetition to capture and point to that which escapes and simultaneously presses on, to trace nomadic seams, distinctive marks or mestizos. Oblivion’s long apnea is born out of an action, a collective ritual, where a fabric wall is the framework on which the voices and bare hands of the participants sew.
