Materias is a book about a spontaneous performance in an abandoned industrial space. One night the author went to a bar in Bairro Alto in Lisbon, her friend João (J.F.N.) got the key to the carpentry shop at Central Tejo in Belém. João invited his ex-boyfriend and they spent the day there, it was September 8, 1991. The photographer followed them as they experience the space until exhaustion. They stripped and mixed their bodies with materials. Matter has impregnated their bodies and the bodies have become matter. The experience of the body in contact with iron, wood shavings, white sheets, with the light, then the reunion, being there, observing, without provoking, letting it flow. A sweet and slow dance.
