*Dear Forest, siamo qui* is an intimate visual narrative that details a life rediscovered in the heart of the woods. Seeking refuge from the discord of city life and the lingering trauma caused by his father’s mental illness, Guido retreats to the forest of his ancestors — the only place where his father once found solace. Among the trees, he discovers a gentler rhythm and a framework for understanding human fragility: just like people, trees bend, break and endure.
The narrative takes a turn with the arrival of Victoria and the birth of their son, Rumi. As a new family takes root far from civilisation, the forest transforms from a sanctuary of personal healing into the foundation for a child’s upbringing. Through silent images and delicate prose, the book explores fatherhood as a generative act: transforming inherited wounds into fertile ground and passing on a sense of primordial wonder as the supreme form of education and care.
