The Day He Swims Thru Marrakech is a book born from the film The double of Rä di Martino: the story of a troupe that tries to realize in Morocco, in Marrakech, the remake of The Swimmer, a 1968 feature film with Burt Lancaster taken from the eponymous story by John Cheever. Through backstage photographs and landscape fragments, the book tells a city of contrasts, moving within the chromatic spectrum of aqua blue of luxurious pools and the burnt pink of the desert. The book was produced as part of the Chiama Artist Museum project promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Suburbs, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism and AMACI – Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums.
