Tourism Economy, urban transformations, and mythified experiences. Originally printed by Rui Silva in Lisbon in 2020, Una città più perfetta reflects on urban housing policies, the exponential growth of tourism, and the cultural sector. Drawing on a series of archetypal characters (the landlord, the investment fund, the tourist, and so on) personified through illustrations sourced from early 20th-century french magazines, the text critically examines the various actors and their more or less conscious role in the broadly defined processes of “gentrification”.
