When we listen in silence the images come to us as gestures of the divine. They appear, evoked by the will; in the dream, in mystical abandonment, in the moment of panic intoxication. They are icons, sacred symbols. Their silence possesses the eloquence of the absolute, of the last night and of the cosmic dawn of everything. This pamphlet is just one of the infinite appearances of the image of Harpocrates. It is a birth. The divine child born of the lotus flower – the finger pointing to the mouth – is its archetype, and it shows us a way. We choose to walk it even in the dark, with the help of a lantern, like hermits or aimless travelers.
